CFQ CFQ - A TLA (Three Letter Acronym) denoting "Current Featured Quality". As this site is a bit of a monster in terms of the depth of areas it will cover in due course. I thought it might be a good idea to focus on one particular aspect (granted at my own whim) - this is an experiment so we'll see how it fairs... And the inaugural CFQ is? Communication. But rather than a boring treatise on the subject, I thought it might be an idea to go a little "left field" and invite you all to contribute to the site communicating your intents, desires and feelings through the medium of Poetry. "Poetry!" - I hear you cry. "Why Poetry?" - Well, it's been a while since I penned any myself but from some recent excursions around the net, I see it is alive, well and thriving. More importantly, people love poetry as a way to express themselves in an unfettered manner - it can get a point across when normal words fail, indeed it acts as therapy for many people (methinks I need to pen a bit more myself!). So, without further ado - REGISTER HERE and start submitting your poetic for the world to see.

I recently read about a certain website looking for poetry submissions (this is a very big website in the Poetry genre - and from the looks of things there are plenty of copycats). A lot of people are crying foul and indeed out and out calling their tactics a poetry scam. It appears the jist of the less than poetic website(s) goes something like this: - Website asks for submissions
- Website judges submissions
- Website deems submission is fantastic and want to include your poem in an anthology
- Website asks for a $50 publishing fee
All very well you might say but the problem is you could submit a full stop and it would be deemed "fantastic" and the fact they have published huge volumes of anthologies (crammed full of $50 poems) mean it works out as a nice little earner for the "poetry scammers". So what's that got to do with SelfHelpTips.com? Well, poetry has and always will be a therapeutic medium to get your message across. And I thought I'd invite you to REGISTER HERE , submit your poem for all to see and allow visitors to make their own determination as to how good a particular poem is (Joomla - the CMS behind this site - allows a rudimentary ranking system). And if you don't care what others may think of your poem - Good for you! This will kill a few birds with one penned stone: - Preventing more money going on a poetry scam
- Getting you to vent your artistic talents to the world at large
- Giving others inspiration by your own hand
That's the theory, now put it into practice!  |
